Kira Linn is a German baritone saxophonist, singer and composer. As the bandleader of her formation Linntett, she has already played over 100 concerts and released two albums: «Nature» (2017) via Double Moon Records und «A Traveller’s Tale» (2020) via Laika Records. In 2023 her third album «Illusion» will be released on the English label Whirlwind Recordings, which deals with topics such as diversity, climate protection and the corona pandemic. The Wiesbaden native expanded her jazz cosmos to include pop, indie, electro and neo-soul.
Linn has also played as a soloist with formations such as the German National Youth Jazz Orchestra, the Frankfurt Radio Big Band, SWR Bigband and the Swiss Jazz Orchestra. She is also a permanent member of the Fuchsthone Orchestra, Francesca Gaza's Ensemble "Kügelförmigkeit" and the Salome Moana Band. In addition to Europe, her concert activities have also taken her to the USA, South Africa and South East Asia. 2024 her composition "Women to Sky" was nominated for a "German Jazz Price" in the category "best composition / arrangement". She has collaborated with Randy Brecker, Jorge Rossy and Domenic Landolf. Kira Linn studied Jazz Saxophone and Composition in Nuremberg and Basel. She currently lives and works in Cologne.
